Why we use aluminium capsules?

The food grade aluminium that we use protects the coffee from exposure to oxygen, light and moisture. This keeps the coffee fresher and more aromatic as compared to other capsules. The metal is also infinitely recyclable with 75% of the aluminium ever produced is still in use today. Aluminium is hence our material of choice.

Coffee brewed from capsules, for the environment!

Capsules turn out to be a more sustainable way of drinking espresso than nearly any other method of making coffee. According to new research, recyclable aluminium pods are more environmentally friendly than all other capsules, whether they are made from plastic or compostable materials.

There are three stages where the coffee consumes energy, at the growth stage, at the roasting/grinding stage and at the brewing stage.

— At the growth stage, we sun-dry our coffee.

— In the second stage, we only grind or roast in small batches to ensure that the coffee you get is both fresh and less wasteful.

— Finally, your favourite batch of Coffee Nirvana's home and you're ready to brew a cup. Here too, single use capsules are more efficient. The coffee machines only flash-heat the amount of water needed for one portion, unlike, for example, boiling a kettle. You are also you're own Barista. This means you don't need a store to remain open for you with a Barista waiting. Just imagine the energy savings.
